Remove the collaborator from Segment

Use this procedure when the collaborator should be offboarded from Segment.

Removal Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Team Members and find the collaborator’s account.
  2. Click Remove to delete the member or downgrade the role to Read-only while removing all source permissions if you must retain the record temporarily.
  3. If SCIM manages provisioning, remove the user from the relevant identity provider group to prevent re-syncing.
  4. Save the change and verify the account is no longer listed under members or has no workspace/source access.

Documentation

  • Export the member list or capture a screenshot after removal.
  • Review the Audit Trail to confirm the action and archive the entry.
  • Notify the collaborator’s engagement lead that access has been revoked.

Clean-Up Checklist

  • Rotate API tokens or warehouse credentials associated with the collaborator’s account.
  • Transfer ownership of tracking plans, personas, or destinations configured by the account.
  • Update your IAM tracker with the removal date, request details, and approvals.
