Add a User to Plausible
Invite the collaborator to Plausible using this workflow.
Prerequisites
- List the Plausible sites (domains) the collaborator should access.
- Confirm whether you want to grant Administrator or Viewer rights.
- Gather the collaborator’s service account email.
- Ensure you have Administrator privileges for the site.
Send the Invitation
- Sign in to Plausible and open the site dashboard.
- Click Settings → Team.
- Choose Invite team member and enter the collaborator’s service account email.
- Select the desired role:
- Administrator if the collaborator should manage goals, integrations, or custom events.
- Viewer for read-only support.
- Send the invite and document the request in your IAM tracker.
After Inviting
- Confirm the invitation appears under Pending and follow up with the collaborator if acceptance is delayed.
- Share any VPN, MFA, or password requirements if applicable.
- Update your access log with the invite date and assigned role.
Troubleshooting
- Invite not delivered: Allowlist
@plausible.ioand resend. - Wrong site: Cancel the invite and re-send from the correct site dashboard.
- Self-hosted setups: Ensure the server can send outbound email or provide the invitation link manually.
