Add a User to Plausible

Invite the collaborator to Plausible using this workflow.

Prerequisites

  • List the Plausible sites (domains) the collaborator should access.
  • Confirm whether you want to grant Administrator or Viewer rights.
  • Gather the collaborator’s service account email.
  • Ensure you have Administrator privileges for the site.

Send the Invitation

  1. Sign in to Plausible and open the site dashboard.
  2. Click Settings → Team.
  3. Choose Invite team member and enter the collaborator’s service account email.
  4. Select the desired role:
    • Administrator if the collaborator should manage goals, integrations, or custom events.
    • Viewer for read-only support.
  5. Send the invite and document the request in your IAM tracker.

After Inviting

  • Confirm the invitation appears under Pending and follow up with the collaborator if acceptance is delayed.
  • Share any VPN, MFA, or password requirements if applicable.
  • Update your access log with the invite date and assigned role.

Troubleshooting

  • Invite not delivered: Allowlist @plausible.io and resend.
  • Wrong site: Cancel the invite and re-send from the correct site dashboard.
  • Self-hosted setups: Ensure the server can send outbound email or provide the invitation link manually.
