Plausible Event Tracking

Measurement Goals

  • Summarize the business questions this Plausible implementation must answer.
  • Map key conversion points, retention loops, or content journeys to measurable events.
  • Note any contractual SLAs for reporting or attribution accuracy.

Core Event Inventory

  • List launch-critical events with brief descriptions and triggering criteria.
  • Document required properties/parameters for each event, including identity hints.
  • Identify dependencies on upstream systems (checkout, CRM, POS, kiosk) that emit data.

Supporting Event Families

  • Outline secondary events that enrich analysis (UX interactions, feature adoption, media engagement).
  • Group events by channel or feature to simplify QA and maintenance.
  • Mark backlog ideas that should be captured in future sprints.

QA & Validation Checklist

  • Describe the tools used to inspect events (vendor debugger, Charles, HAR files, mobile proxies).
  • Capture who signs off on each event before promotion to production.
  • Note automated tests or alerts that watch for event volume drops or schema drift.

Documentation & Ownership

  • Link back to the master tracking plan and any analytics dictionaries.
  • Assign owners for maintaining event definitions and triaging change requests.
